Family Fun is the Focus for Music in the Parks’ 7th Year

Well it’s about time!

Am I just getting older, or did this winter seem to last close to forever? (maybe a bit of both…). Yet finally it seems that the cold and snow and grey and damp are behind us for another few months and the skies are sunny and bright, the days are warming up and the local landscape and hills are beginning to struggle toward their very best impression of greenery. It’s finally spring – and soon it will be summer! And that means it is soon time for another season of Ashcroft Music in the Park!

The amazing Tanya Lipscomb will do double-duty as Kiki the Eco Elf and as … the amazing Tanya Lipscomb!

Yet again the gazebo at Heritage Place Park will be the stage for another series of wonderful local and “imported” live music, but this year – the 7th season of this wonderful summer long event – the park will also be alive with the sounds of children’s laughter!

This season of Music in the Park the Winding Rivers Arts and Performance Society wants to make this traditional event more inclusive of children and families. Therefore not only will there be more great live music to entertain the adults, but there will also be something that all children young and old enjoy … clowns!

Beginning at 5:00 every Music in the Park presentation will start off with a show directed mainly for the children (and young at heart) in our community. The kids of Ashcroft and Cache Creek and area are sure to be delighted by the magical antics and beguiling buffoonery of such comical characters as Kiki the Eco Elf, Trixie the Clown, Mr. Brown Knows and Uncle Chris the Clown!

Of course all that laughing and tom-foolery can cause one to work up an appetite – but fear not! There will be lots of food and beverages available from such local vendors as the Lions Club and Rotary, and many others.

The brilliant Australian duo This Way North will be but one of the outstanding performers to rock the gazebo at this years Ashcroft Music in the Park!

Following the fun everybody can relax a little and listen to and enjoy great live music. Following in the tradition of past Music in the Park events, we will be entertained by wonderfully talented local musicians as well as “imported” headline acts. Again these music genres will be interestingly diverse and comfortably familiar – from great roots and folk artists to classic rockers and beyond!

So stay tuned! More announcements about this exciting series of live music concerts and family fun will appear shortly on this website and on a Facebook page near you!
