The first Music in the Park show of the 2016 season is about a week away and will highlight some down home country music by some home town country folk!
Born in Ashcroft and raised nearby on the Bonaparte Ranch, Linda Parke will be singing and playing fiddle in the Appalachian old-time tradition. Joining Linda will be Vancouver based The Skillet Lickers. Blending country blues, old-time and early country. Bring your dancing shoes and expect a toe tappin’ good time!
(Please note that Linda Parke will not – due to last minute circumstances – be appearing with “The Royal Coachmen” as previously advertised).
As as a bonus, long time supporter and performer for Ashcroft Music in the Park Jennifer Ferguson will bring along her Riversong guitar and soulful voice to open the first show of the 2016 Music in the Park series with a selection of her own favourite music with a country flair.
So grab your lawn chair, a hat and maybe a blanket and gather round the Gazebo at the Ashcroft Heritage Park for a fine evening of guitar and fiddle and song.
Wednesday, June 8 starting at 6:30 pm. As are all Music in the Park performances this show is free to the public but donations into the hat are much appreciated.
